Our inspection and advanced testing team has reached another milestone that reflects the excellence and intellectual quality of our work: we received an award for a paper presented at the 4th Technical Knowledge Journey in Inspection (JTCI 2026), organized by Abendi.

The paper “Considerable deviations in TMCP materials for weld inspection in accordance with AWS D1.1 standard – base technique” was developed from a real challenge encountered in the field, involving the behavior of TMCP (Thermo-Mechanically Controlled Process) materials during ultrasonic inspection of welded joints.

We congratulate the authors who represented our excellence: Marcelo Salomão, Douglas Nery Rodrigues, Marcos Alexandre Passarelles de Sousa Filho and Gustavo de Castro Brito, who are part of our specialist team, and Cláudio Ribeiro, from Seatrium.

The partnership with Seatrium was crutial and reflects a core aspect of our work: more than executing an inspection, we seek to technically investigate the challenges encountered, develop solutions together with our clients and transform these experiences into knowledge for the sector.

It was from the situations found during activities carried out at the shipyard that we had the opportunity to deepen our assessments related to TMCP materials and ultrasonic beam deviations, turning a field challenge into a study, development and knowledge-sharing initiative for the technical community.

JTCI 2026, organized by Abendi, created a space for sharing experiences, innovation and technical knowledge, raising the level of discussion in the inspection and Non-Destructive Testing sector in Brazil.
